Radar technology has revolutionised our every day life and is used in far more than what you may think.

Radar stands for ‘radio detection and ranging’, this itself gives us a vague understanding of how it may work.  Radar technology is used in a lot of vehicles, like boats and planes and allows the driver to detect objects that may be in front of it.

It does this by releasing radio waves that travel and then hit objects in its path. This allows you to detect what may be in the way and is especially useful for air travel as pilots are often operating their vehicles at night and are not able to clearly see what is in front of them. The use of this technology has potentially saved millions of lives and was also used in the war in order to detect German planes and tanks. A lot of people even believe that the use of Radar technology allowed Britain to win the war.

Though Radar technology has its roots in older and more advanced vehicles, it’s also being integrated into commonly used objects, like the everyday car. This integration has your safety in mind and a lot of companies are using the latest radar detectorsto support how you park.  This is very commonly used in cars that use assisted parking as it means there are no unfortunate crashes or damage to your car.

Radar technology has also been used a lot with the rise in popularity of drones. Drones are expensive equipment and so manufacturers use radar detectors to alert the user of any object in their path and allows the user to change direction or halt flying.

Radar detectors are so commonly used in everyday life that you may not even notice, one thing is for sure and that is that radar technology has been integral for our technological development.
